Meae Song Mosley, 51 and of South Korean descent, was found shot and killed on September 11, 2016, in her trailer in Cleveland, Mississippi. She was discovered by her son, Michael Mosley, who said he had just returned from a party and found her room ransacked before locating her deceased on a couch. Her husband, Donald Mosley, was hospitalized with cancer at the time.
Early in the investigation Michael suggested that local drug users might have been responsible and that his mother’s own gun had been stolen and used. A year later a local resident found a plastic bag containing a pistol, some costume jewelry, and Donald Mosley’s military identification card. That discovery, together with other evidence developed by investigators, led to Michael Mosley’s arrest on charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
At trial a jury convicted Michael Mosley on both counts; he was adjudged a habitual offender and sentenced to life for the murder plus a consecutive ten-year term for the firearm offense. Did anyone in Cleveland know Meae or see activity around her trailer in the days before September 11, 2016?
