Tardarious Williams, 25, of Memphis, Tennessee, was found dead in a soybean field on South Mullins Road in Holly Springs, Mississippi, on July 8, 2016. His death was caused by gun violence, and the discovery left family and the local community seeking answers as investigators worked the case.
In December 2017 an arrest warrant was issued for Jesus Najara, age 35, of the Memphis area, in connection with Williams’s homicide. Najara reportedly fled and remained at large until federal and local fugitive agents located him in Rutherford County, Tennessee. He was apprehended on April 9, 2018, and taken into custody pending extradition to Marshall County; he was charged with capital murder in connection with Williams’s death.
There are still unanswered questions about what led to Williams being in Holly Springs that day and the circumstances before he was left in the field. If anyone has information about Williams, his movements that week, or the events in Holly Springs, please come forward.
