Leonardo Deandre White, 22, was shot and killed in Biloxi on March 21, 2016. Known to friends and family as Nardo, he was found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of The Corner Station at Division and Lameuse streets after a 911 call at 10:31 p.m. Authorities believed the shooting occurred in the 200 block of Delauney Street, a block from where he was found and near his family’s home. White was taken to Merit Health Biloxi but died at 11:38 p.m. from a single bullet that struck an artery in his leg.
A 27-year-old Biloxi man, Jesse Marquerius King, turned himself in the day after the shooting and was arrested and charged with White’s murder; a Justice Court Judge ordered him held without bond. King had a pending felony possession-with-intent-to-distribute charge from the previous September. Reports differ on how the investigation progressed after that arrest, and no motive has been publicly released. The investigation was described as ongoing and authorities asked the public for information.
If anyone knew Leonardo, his movements that night, or has information about the shooting, please come forward to assist the inquiry.
