A routine business dispute in Carriere, Mississippi, ended with two deaths. On January 23, 2016, 43-year-old gun shop owner Jason McLemore was involved in an argument with a father and son, Audy and Michael McCool, over a $25 repair fee after they came to pick up a firearm. The disagreement escalated into gunfire. Jason and his 17-year-old son Jacob were both fatally wounded; Jason was found dead in the front doorway of his shop with multiple gunshot wounds. The McCools were also injured in the exchange.
Michael and Audy McCool were arrested following the shooting. Michael faced two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths; Audy was charged as an accessory after the fact. The case devastated the McLemore family and the small community. Does anyone have additional details about the incident or remember the shop and the people involved?
