Jacob Samuel Allan was a 13-year-old seventh grader from Magee, Mississippi, who died on December 19, 2015. He loved the outdoors and hunting.

According to investigators, Jacob had been hunting with his brother earlier that day and, after returning to their grandmother’s house, tripped while ascending the stairs. The rifle he was carrying discharged when he fell; the single shot struck his face and proved fatal. Authorities determined there was no evidence of foul play, ruled the death an accidental shooting, and made no arrests.

Funeral services were held at Corinth Baptist Church in Magee, where he was buried.
