On the early morning of July 5, 2015, violence outside Club Memories in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, left 17-year-old Jabarri Goudy fatally shot around 2 a.m. Local investigators launched a homicide probe amid community pressure to resolve the teenager’s death.
Authorities first arrested Arthur J. Jones Jr. days after the shooting and charged him with murder; he was detained for nine months and denied he was involved. Surveillance later showed Jones about 70 miles away in Gulfport at a different club with friends, evidence that led to his release and dismissal of charges and prompted a civil suit he filed against the lead detective for wrongful arrest and suppression of evidence.
Investigators then focused on Andreco Deshun Guston, who was indicted, tried, and convicted of second-degree murder in Goudy’s killing. Guston received a 30-year prison sentence with a requirement to serve at least 12 years incarcerated.
Did anyone who knew Jabarri or witnessed the night outside Club Memories come forward with details that helped the case?
