On October 3, 2014, a domestic dispute at a residence in Aberdeen, Mississippi, ended in a deadly exchange of gunfire that killed 59-year-old Robert Alan Mize and his son-in-law, Mickey Sudduth. The confrontation began after Jennifer Mize Sudduth told officers her husband had attempted to choke her; she ran inside to alert her father. Robert Mize armed himself with a Glock .40 pistol and went to confront Sudduth, who was also armed.

Both men were shot multiple times and died at the scene; the sheriff reported each had sustained at least six gunshot wounds. Janice Mize and Jennifer Sudduth were wounded, and two children in the home were unharmed. No charges were filed because both principals died.

Has anyone in the Aberdeen area shared memories of the family or details about what led up to that day?
