Ebony Harvey was 29 when she was killed on Sunday, May 11, 2014, in Jackson, Mississippi. The Black/African American mother of two was sitting on a porch on Wilshire Avenue with two other people when a man drove up and opened fire. Two others at the scene — a man and a woman — were wounded and survived; Harvey was fatally shot.
Friends and family described Harvey as a loving mother. Funeral services were held at Hanging Moss Church of Christ in Jackson and she was buried at Good Hope Cemetery in Florence, Mississippi. The Jackson Police Department investigated and asked the public to contact Crimestoppers with information, but no arrests have been announced and the case has gone cold.
If anyone knew Ebony or has information about the shooting on Wilshire Avenue that morning, please come forward.
