Two men were shot to death in Adrian, Michigan, on January 15, 2021. Samuel Compton, 82, a retired chemist and a registered sex offender, and 67-year-old Robert Braman Sr. were killed on Frank Street in what investigators later treated as a linked double homicide.
Authorities say 34-year-old Christopher Lee-Ryan Carden carried out the shootings, then stole a car and led police on a short chase before crashing and being taken into custody. The reported motive was tied to an alleged sexual-abuse case: Compton had been released on bond while facing charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under the age of 13, and the young victim was related to Carden.
Carden was charged with two counts of open murder, first-degree home invasion, unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, and third-degree fleeing and eluding police. Does anyone have information about the victims, their lives in Adrian, or the events leading up to January 15, 2021?
