Fredrick Hudson was 48 when he was shot and killed outside his Southfield, Michigan home on December 27, 2020. The shooting occurred about 8 p.m. as Hudson returned to the driveway; his wife, Ebony Hudson, and their two children were inside the house and came outside after hearing gunfire. Hudson was taken to a local hospital and died of his wounds. The assailant fled in Hudson’s 2013 Toyota Tundra.

Investigators treated the case as a targeted attack and a fatal carjacking. Police identified a person of interest, 25-year-old Tyron Miguel Turner Jr., and arrested him shortly after the incident. In early January 2021 the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office charged Turner with felony murder, felony firearm, and carjacking; at arraignment in the 46th District Court he was denied bond and remained in custody. The investigation was described as ongoing.

If anyone has information about Hudson’s death, the Southfield Police Department asks that you come forward.
