Jordan Baker was 19 and from Wayne, Michigan, when he was found shot to death on February 6, 2017, in Westland. His body and that of 35-year-old Howard Wick of Westland were discovered near Newburgh and Michigan Avenue after residents reported hearing gunshots. Police concluded both men were victims of a double homicide.
Investigators determined the killings resulted from a planned robbery aimed at stealing marijuana. Within a day, Westland police, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested three suspects: 19-year-old Dominik Charleston of Romulus, 19-year-old Kobi Taylor, who was homeless, and 17-year-old Amber Tackett of Taylor. All three faced felony murder and armed robbery charges; Charleston was also charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
What details about the incident or the victims might help piece together what happened that morning?
