A birthday party on Erie Street in Adrian, Michigan, ended in a fatal shooting in the early hours of June 26, 2016. Thirty-two-year-old William Clayton Coleman Jr. was shot in the chest and torso after an argument that had begun earlier that night at Mandy’s Bar reportedly reignited at the home. Coleman was taken to ProMedica Bixby Hospital and died of his injuries on June 27, 2016.
Police identified 21-year-old Sim Ervin King of Inkster as a person of interest; he was arrested the night after the shooting and charged with open murder in Coleman’s death, assault with intent to murder for the shooting of ToVonté Dabney, and additional weapons offenses. Dabney survived his critical wounds and testified at the preliminary examination that King was the shooter. King pleaded not guilty at arraignment and was held without bond as the case moved forward.
Does anyone have information about the party that morning, or about interactions between Coleman and King that night?
