Sean Lawrence Key, 44, was fatally shot in the head at a family play center in Melvindale, Michigan. The shooting, described as the result of a bloody family feud, was recorded on surveillance cameras and corroborated by witnesses at the scene. The Melvindale Police Department and the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his identity.

The suspect fled after the shooting and authorities sought a warrant for arrest from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Sean Key’s brother, Erik Key, said he believes the shooting may have been accidental and described the act as reckless rather than intentional. The fact that children witnessed the violence drew sharp community concern as investigators continued gathering evidence.

If anyone was at the play center or knows more about the events that led to the shooting, please share what you know with investigators.
