In the pre-dawn hours of November 25, 2001, a passerby found 31-year-old Roderick Hunt lying dead in the street at the intersection of Beardsley and Conn Avenue in Elkhart, Indiana. His gray Honda Accord was at the scene. Officers determined Hunt, a Black / African American man from South Bend, Michigan, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was pronounced dead there.

The investigation has not produced arrests or publicly identified suspects. Police have not released a motive or named persons of interest, and the case has grown cold despite continued work by the Elkhart Police Department’s Homicide Investigators. Hunt was later buried in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.

Does anyone have information about Hunt or his activities in Elkhart or South Bend around November 2001 that could help investigators?
