Dominick A. Santiago Jr., 40, was found shot in the driver’s seat of his SUV on the 500 block of Linden Avenue in Burlington City in the early morning hours of May 12, 2022. Officers on patrol were drawn by the sound of gunfire just before 3 a.m.; Santiago was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden and pronounced dead shortly before 5:30 a.m.
Within a day police arrested 35-year-old Bryant Williams of Burlington City after officers spotted him walking near East Broad and Lawrence streets. He was charged with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and was lodged in the Burlington County Jail to await a detention hearing. No motive has been publicly released.
Family and friends remembered Santiago as a loving father who liked to dress sharply and had hoped to own a business and become a lawyer. His mother, Carolyn Correa-Bryant, made a public plea to end the violence, and a balloon release was held at a Willingboro park where he had played as a child.
If anyone knew Dominick Santiago or has information about the shooting, please come forward.
