On the evening of November 2, 2021, gunfire erupted near Seamen Street and Remsen Avenue in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Lorenzo Hill Staten, 32, of nearby Franklin Township, was found by police at about 8:12 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
Investigators quickly treated the incident as a homicide. Detectives from the New Brunswick Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said the killing was not random and that Staten knew the people responsible. Less than two weeks later, on November 15, 2021, authorities arrested two New Brunswick men in the Bronx: 24-year-old Jhon German-Suarez and 31-year-old Wendis Rodriguez-Quiles. Both were charged in connection with Staten’s death; charges included first-degree murder and weapons offenses, and law enforcement described an alleged conspiracy between the two men leading to the shooting.
Did anyone in the area see or hear anything that night, or know Lorenzo’s movements or contacts before November 2?
