On the evening of August 6, 2021, gunfire in a Linden, New Jersey neighborhood left 35-year-old resident Carlo Dauphin dead. Police responded shortly after 6:30 p.m. to the 1400 block of Union Street and found Dauphin, known to family and friends as Junior, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Born July 10, 1986, in Elizabeth and raised in Linden, Dauphin attended local schools, studied at Union County College and a business school for real estate investments, and worked as a manager at Taco Bell and for H&R Block. The Union County Prosecutor’s Office and Linden Police opened an immediate investigation; the Union County Homicide Task Force, ballistics and crime scene units assisted. Authorities appealed to the public for information, offered anonymity and a reward for tips, and reported that no suspects or arrests had been announced in initial reports.

Does anyone in Linden have information about that evening or knew Carlo well enough to shed light on what happened?
