Davell Williamson was 21 when he was shot dead in Willingboro, New Jersey, in the early hours of February 18, 2019. Williamson was sitting in a parked car on Millbrook Drive with a passenger just before 1 a.m. when an assailant approached and opened fire. Williamson was taken to Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County and pronounced dead; the passenger suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was treated at Cooper University Hospital in Camden and survived.
Months passed with no arrest in Williamson’s case. In June 2019, a separate investigation into the murders of Jennifer Vassell, 68, and her 9-year-old grandson Ishon Mathlin Jr. produced an arrest: 23-year-old Terrance J. Matthews of Willingboro was taken into custody after a high-speed chase. Investigators later linked Matthews to the February slaying of Williamson, and he was charged in that homicide as well as the double killing. The motive for Williamson’s death was tied to a violent killing spree carried out by Matthews.
Did anyone in Willingboro know Williamson’s usual routines or remember seeing him on Millbrook Drive that night?
