Aristedes Teddy Statiroudis, 43, was found unresponsive on a sidewalk near Milbank Park in Bloomfield, New Jersey, on the morning of March 12, 2018. Emergency responders pronounced him dead shortly before 9 a.m.; he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force and the Bloomfield Police Department concluded the shooting was not random and that Statiroudis had been targeted.

The probe later tied the killing to a large-scale narcotics enterprise and reported that Statiroudis had been cooperating with federal authorities as an informant. Members of the enterprise had mistakenly killed an innocent person on February 3, 2018, believing that person to be Statiroudis, and then allegedly conspired to carry out the March attack. Two masked gunmen are reported to have approached Statiroudis and fired multiple close-range shots.

Several men were later charged in connection with the murder; three defendants from East Orange — Tyquan Daniels, Ali Hill, and Thomas Zimmerman — pleaded guilty to racketeering counts that included their roles in the killing. Does anyone have information about Statiroudis’s activities in Bloomfield or about the individuals named?
