On the night of August 8, 2017, a burst of gunfire in Bridgeton, New Jersey, left three people wounded. Twenty-five-year-old Eric Blocker was in a car with a 24-year-old woman when shots rang out; a 22-year-old woman was standing just outside the vehicle. Investigators recovered 23 shell casings at the chaotic scene. All three victims were taken for medical care; Blocker died of his wounds the next day, August 9, 2017.
The investigation continued for months. In February 2018 four men from Bridgeton were arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. Nineteen-year-old William Jackson IV, 20-year-old Tywone Allen Jr., and 30-year-old Andrew W. Wescoat were charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder and held in jail. Twenty-seven-year-old Marvin German Jr. was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and released pending future court dates.
If anyone was in the area of the shooting that night or has information about who was involved, please share what was seen or heard.
