Ricardo Nieto was 33 when he was found shot in the driveway of his home at the corner of Niles and 5th streets in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on July 16, 2017. Police answered reports of gunfire at about 2:50 a.m.; Nieto was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and the Elizabeth Police Department identified a light-colored, two-door car with a sunroof as a vehicle of interest; surveillance shows it in the neighborhood the night of the shooting and suggests it may have had out-of-state plates. A sketch of a person of interest — a young man with dark skin and short dark hair — was released and Union County Crime Stoppers offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
