Anthony Henry, 27, was shot in Plainfield, New Jersey, on the night of Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Police were called to the 1000 block of East Second Street at about 11 p.m. after reports of gunfire and found Henry with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick and died there on the afternoon of Thursday, May 4, 2017, becoming the city’s third homicide of 2017.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office led a joint investigation with the Plainfield Police Division and other agencies. Investigators released video showing a dark red, four-door Honda Civic believed to be connected to the shooting; the clips show multiple muzzle flashes from the front passenger-side window before the vehicle sped away. Union County Crime Stoppers offered up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment. No arrests or suspect identifications have been publicly released and the investigation remains active.
