Amy Josephine Liebl, 18, was last seen in The Village, Oklahoma, on January 17, 1992. She had recently moved into a Westchester Drive residence with a male roommate, Larry Faulkenberry, and worked two jobs. According to the roommate, four men visited that night; he saw Amy go into a room with them and later saw her with dilated eyes. He did not report her missing until three days later.
When police were finally notified, several of Amy’s essential items remained at the home: her driver’s license, glasses, cigarettes, lighter, and all of her shoes and coats — a worrying detail given the 23 degrees temperature that night. Missing from the residence were the sheets from her waterbed and a pink-and-blue teddy bear security blanket she had since childhood. The roommate submitted to a polygraph test with inconclusive results.
Investigators noted Amy had a history of drug use, which hampered locating and interviewing acquaintances. Early searches and private investigators turned up nothing. Detectives have said they believe she was the victim of foul play and have information suggesting a vehicle may have stopped at a convenience store between about 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. the night she vanished. Her two paychecks went uncollected and her whereabouts remain unknown.
If anyone knew Amy, her social circle at the time, or has information about the four men reported at the residence that night, please come forward.
