In the predawn hours of a Sunday in March 2015, 20-year-old Kevin D. Peterson, Jr. was shot multiple times on the 100 block of West Grape Street in Vineland, New Jersey. Police found a vehicle with three people inside and one person outside; Peterson had been shot four times inside the car and was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. Another man, Damian Mills, was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman in the vehicle suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and a second female passenger was uninjured.

Investigators linked two men to the shootings. A flip phone recovered near shell casings and the victims’ car was traced to Michael R. Loftin, Jr., and DNA on the phone matched him. Phone records placed Sheldon M. Goldsborough, Sr. and Loftin together at the time of the shooting, with Goldsborough’s phone pinging a tower near the scene.

Both men were later sentenced for their roles: Goldsborough received 45 years in state prison after convictions that included first-degree aggravated manslaughter and second-degree reckless manslaughter, with more than 38 years to be served before parole eligibility; Loftin was sentenced to 20 years on a conspiracy to commit murder charge. Did anyone in Vineland know Kevin or have information about what happened that night?
