On a Sunday evening in November 2013, 28-year-old Jose Disla-Cordero was shot multiple times and found dead in the basement of his East Sixth Street home in Plainfield, New Jersey. Police responded to a report of a shooting on November 24 and discovered his body there.

Investigators concluded a group forced their way into the house believing Disla-Cordero had stolen from them. In the basement they held two other adults at gunpoint and used three different handguns to carry out the fatal attack. Ballistics and other evidence collected at the scene played a central role in identifying suspects.

Over the next two years authorities arrested several people. Three defendants—Alejandro Lopez, Mayrenid Hidalgo-Bautista, and Rodney Rosario—were tried, while a fourth reached a guilty plea to conspiracy to commit murder before trial. Lopez, Hidalgo-Bautista, and Rosario were convicted by a Union County jury in October 2018; sentencing followed in January 2019. Does anyone have information about Jose’s last known movements or the people involved that could shed more light on what happened?
