Gabriel Martinez was 24 and an active-duty Navy service member stationed at Naval Station Norfolk when he was fatally shot in Virginia Beach in the early hours of December 3, 2022. Martinez had been celebrating at a squadron Christmas party and was seen leaving the Omega Bar that night. Investigators believe he may have been abducted from the bar and that he did not know the individuals who took his life.

Police found Martinez’s body at about 2 a.m. on Pickering Street, roughly a mile from the bar. Surveillance released by the Virginia Beach Police Department shows two persons of interest and a red Kia Soul seen both in the Omega Bar parking lot and at the scene. One person wore a yellow puffer-style jacket with a hood and the other a white jacket. A combined reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

If anyone saw the red Kia Soul, the two people captured on video, or has information about Martinez’s movements that night, please come forward to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
