On the afternoon of October 30, 2022, 26-year-old Ahmed Hemoh was found inside an apartment at Skyline Towers Apartments on Seminary Road in the Bailey’s Crossroads area of Falls Church, Virginia, with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Emergency responders pronounced Hemoh dead at the scene, and residents of the complex were briefly advised to shelter in place as police opened their investigation.

Detectives determined the shooting was not random. Building surveillance showed three men leaving the apartment right after the shooting; law enforcement identified all three but publicly named one man as the suspected shooter. Within days Fairfax County Police identified 28-year-old Phil Asare Darkwah as the primary suspect and obtained warrants on October 31, 2022, for second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Darkwah turned himself in on November 5, 2022, and was held without bond.

If anyone knew Ahmed, saw activity at Skyline Towers around October 30, 2022, or has information about the other two men who left the apartment, please share what is known.
