Gerry Dean Munson, a 32-year-old American Indian/Alaska Native, was last seen June 1, 1990 while aboard the 44-foot fishing vessel Dreamer that had departed Seward, Alaska. He was reported missing when the vessel arrived in the Chignik area. One maritime report presumes he was lost from the fiberglass halibut longliner Dreamer on May 31, 1990, and the Alaska State Troopers list his last contact as June 1, 1990.

Munson was about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighed 155 pounds, and had black hair and brown eyes. He wore contact lenses and metallic wire-frame glasses and was last seen in black jeans, a black coat, and a light-colored shirt. The circumstances of his disappearance are classified as related to an environmental event at sea.

The Alaska State Troopers are investigating and Munson’s sister provided DNA that has been uploaded to CODIS for comparison. Does anyone have information about the Dreamer’s crew, its voyage between Seward and Chignik, or sightings from that trip?
