Randy Ely was last seen on May 6, 1990, during a boating accident in Yakutat Bay, Alaska. He was 35 at the time and was with Thomas Dann; both men went missing in the same incident and are now presumed deceased. The Alaska State Troopers in Anchorage are handling the case and it was reported the day of the incident.

Ely is described as a White/Caucasian male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 195 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Distinguishing features include a pierced left ear and false upper teeth. At disappearance he was believed to be wearing a red checkered coat, blue Levi pants, tan boots, and likely a blue baseball cap and a silver eagle earring.
