A domestic dispute in a Bassett apartment on a Saturday evening in June 2022 ended with both people shot and one dead. Around 9:30 p.m., a man called Henry County 9-1-1 saying he and his girlfriend had been shot. Deputies found 32-year-old Tambria Taylor with multiple gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene. The caller, 32-year-old Tyson Hairston of Collinsville, also suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds to his neck and torso and was airlifted to a Roanoke hospital.

Investigators say Taylor and Hairston were involved in a heated argument and that both were armed and fired at each other. The investigation remains ongoing. If anyone has information about what happened that night on Meadow Green Drive, please contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
