A February 10, 2022 parking‑lot argument in Fairfax, Virginia left 39‑year‑old Johnny Lee Robinson III dead. Officers responding to a 911 call around 8:12 p.m. found Robinson with a gunshot wound to his upper body; he was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. Witnesses reported an audible dispute between a man and a woman and said a woman fled immediately after a single shot was fired.
Police searches with K9 units and a helicopter recovered a suitcase and a firearm believed linked to the shooting. Surveillance video showed Robinson and the woman leaving an apartment together shortly before the confrontation; neither lived at the complex. Detectives identified 23‑year‑old Kaitlynn Nicole Nicholas of Harrisonburg as the suspect. On February 11, 2022, she was taken into custody and charged with second‑degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony, held without bond pending extradition to Fairfax County.
If anyone saw activity in the 3300 block of Willow Crescent Drive on the evening of February 10, 2022 or has information about Robinson’s movements that night, please come forward.
