On the evening of April 17, 2021, 24-year-old Kaleb Tremaine Greene was fatally shot at a residence on Jarrett Drive in Bassett, Virginia. Deputies responded to a 911 call about the shooting at about 8:42 pm. Greene was found inside the home on the floor with at least one gunshot wound to his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency responders arrived.
Investigators determined Greene had been visiting the residence and became involved in an argument with 21-year-old Isaiah Jeremiah Dillard, who lived on the same street. The dispute escalated, Dillard produced a firearm and shot Greene. Dillard was found outside the home, taken into custody without incident and later charged with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony; he was held in the Henry County Jail without bond. Greene’s body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia for autopsy.
If anyone knew Kaleb, saw him in Bassett that evening, or has information about the argument or events on Jarrett Drive, please share what you know.
