Adreonna Robyn June Bug Keffer was 18 and living in Salem, Virginia, when she was killed on Valentine’s Night, February 14, 2021. Described as goofy with a bright laugh, compassionate and devoted to her family—especially her younger sister Keira—she also enjoyed caring for the elderly. Neighbors or callers reported suspicious circumstances at the apartment she shared with her 22-year-old fiancé, DeAngelo Bonds, prompting Roanoke police to respond that night.

Officers found the apartment in disarray, evidence consistent with a violent struggle, but no one was inside. Bonds was later located in his car miles from the scene and told police he had disposed of Adreonna’s body. An extensive search of the Roanoke River recovered her remains. Bonds was arrested and charged in connection with her death, and later pleaded guilty and received a prison sentence.

Does anyone have memories of Adreonna or information about her life in Salem that could add context to what happened that night?
