A dispute inside El Norteno restaurant in Martinsville, Virginia, on the night of February 5, 2021, escalated into gunfire that left 33-year-old Shavon Lamont Reid and 23-year-old Keilo Anton Martin dead. The shooting began in the bar area around 10:30 p.m. and continued into the parking lot, where two armed men were seen firing at a third person. Martinsville Police officers arriving on scene found Reid and Martin deceased and discovered two other men with gunshot wounds; those victims were taken to a hospital.

A nearby patrol officer exchanged fire with the gunmen, striking one. Multiple agencies responded to secure the restaurant and evacuate about a dozen patrons and roughly 20 employees who had been inside. In the days after the shooting, state police charged Jamal Emun Jenkins, 24, with first-degree murder and related firearm counts, and charged Rosario Nasiar Eggleston, 20, with aggravated malicious wounding, conspiracy, and firearm offenses. A grand jury later declined to indict Jenkins in July 2021; the case against Eggleston continued with a trial scheduled for March 2022.

Did anyone in Martinsville witness the argument that led to the shooting or have information about who fired first?
