Dwayne U. Swann, 53, was found dead at his Chesterfield home on Drexelbrook Road on February 14, 2019, after an argument outside the residence escalated and he was shot. Police pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators early on believed Swann likely knew his attacker.

Court documents later described that Erika M. McNeil and Keith M. Bailey had gone to Swann’s house to purchase drugs; Swann was reportedly struck in the head as he opened the door, leaving a trail of blood through the home. An uncle in another part of the house testified to hearing yelling followed by a gunshot, and a television was taken from the residence.

The investigation led to arrests in September and October 2020 of Bailey, McNeil, Tramelle L. Jones and William A. Green, each charged with murder, robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit a felony.
