A late-night shooting at the Carriage House apartment complex on Coach Circle in Virginia Beach left two men dead and a third seriously wounded on the evening of December 30, 2018. Police found the scene after reports of gunfire around 8:30 p.m. One of the deceased was identified as 31-year-old Christopher Jerome Bailey of Norfolk; the other was 30-year-old Feraud Lloyd Beard of Virginia Beach. The seriously injured third victim was taken to a local hospital; that person’s identity was not released.

The shooting occurred in a residential area near Virginia Wesleyan University and alarmed nearby residents who heard the gunshots. The Virginia Beach Police Department opened a homicide and assault investigation, canvassed the neighborhood, and asked the public for information. In the days and weeks that followed, no suspects were publicly identified and no arrests were announced.
