A family dispute in Stafford, Virginia, ended with Christopher Andrew Veronee found dead in his Holly Drive home the evening of Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Investigators determined Christopher, 33, had been shot and killed the day before, on Monday, February 5, 2018.

Authorities say the case unfolded after staff at a cold-weather shelter in Roanoke, Virginia, alerted police about a suspicious man. That person was identified as Christopher’s younger brother, 21-year-old William Jackson Veronee of Aiken, South Carolina. During that encounter William reportedly admitted to shooting his brother in Stafford after an argument, and the vehicle he had taken from the scene broke down in the Roanoke area; Roanoke police recovered the car.

Stafford County deputies went to Christopher’s home after being notified by Roanoke, and found his body. William Jackson Veronee was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony; he was initially held in the Roanoke City Jail.

Did anyone in Stafford or Roanoke know the Veronee brothers or have information about the argument that led to this shooting?
