Randy Lee McIntyre, 55, was found dead inside his Ironwood Loop home in Abingdon, Virginia, on August 26, 2017. He died from a single shotgun wound to the chest. He was described as someone who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Virginia Tech football.
Washington County deputies and detectives responded to the residence and focused their investigation on Randy’s wife, 49-year-old Ginger Claudine McIntyre, who was at the home. Authorities described the shooting as domestic-related and said the couple’s home had a reported history of disturbances; neighbors recalled previous police calls and some remembered hearing gunshots at the property.
Ginger McIntyre was arrested and charged with second-degree murder; officials reported she had confessed multiple times. She was held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail pending court action. Does anyone who knew the McIntyres or lived nearby remember earlier incidents at the home or other details that could help explain what happened?
