In the early morning hours of July 26, 2017, a passing motorist in Lorton, Virginia reported a car idling in the middle of Dolsie Grove Drive. Fairfax County officers arriving about 3:30 a.m. found a late-model Acura with two young men slumped over from trauma to their upper bodies. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were identified as 19-year-old Gregory Dennis, Black/African American, and 20-year-old Ryan Cross, both from Dumfries.

Investigators treated the deaths as a double homicide and pursued possible motives, with detectives suspecting a drug-related connection. Because neighbors did not hear gunshots, police believed the killings occurred where the victims were found. Autopsies were performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Fairfax County Police Department canvassed the area and used aerial documentation while processing the scene.

On July 31, 2017, authorities arrested 21-year-old Kelsey Jordan McCrimmon of Lorton. He had been taken into custody on an unrelated robbery allegation and was later charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Gregory Dennis and Ryan Cross. Does anyone have information about Gregory Dennis, his activities in the area, or the nights leading up to July 26?
