A late-night argument in Arlington’s Nauck neighborhood ended in a fatal shooting on June 16, 2017. Around 11:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Lowell Street, 35-year-old Adonis Wright of Washington, D.C., was shot. Officers on scene provided first aid until medics transported Wright to George Washington University Hospital, where he later died of his wounds.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect. Authorities named 23-year-old Daejon Tyrie Jones of Woodbridge as the person who shot Wright and fled. Jones was considered armed and dangerous, but was located the next evening, June 17, 2017, and taken into custody at a Stafford County residence without incident; he was charged with murder and held at the Arlington County Detention Facility. Police described the shooting as an isolated incident and said there was no further threat to the community.
Did anyone in Nauck or the surrounding area see or hear anything that night that could shed more light on the dispute?
