On the evening of November 30, 2016, 37-year-old Joseph Ray Davis was found shot to death at the Madison Falls Run apartment complex on Green Tree Road in Stafford, Virginia. Stafford County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Davis with a fatal gunshot wound.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a man running from the scene shortly after shots were fired, and law enforcement conducted a search of the area. Less than an hour after the initial call, a 23-year-old man, Ryan Daron Fair, was arrested. Fair was charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and was being held without bond while the investigation continued.
