Eugene Laverne Hindman, 45, and his wife Sharon disappeared from Dryden, Washington after last being seen on September 27, 1985. Both worked at Independent Fruit packing apples in the Wenatchee Valley; they missed two straight workdays and did not pick up paychecks, prompting a coworker to report them missing. Their red Ford convertible was found parked overnight at the Big Y Café, and blood was discovered on the walls and floor of the travel trailer where they lived while most personal effects remained undisturbed, suggesting foul play.

Investigators later found the couple’s 1970 Mercury convertible abandoned behind a former gas station with blood in a sink there; both the trailer and one of the cars had been wiped down to remove prints. Detectives believe the pair may have been shot as they entered their home and that mud and grass under the recovered vehicle indicate their bodies could have been moved to a secondary location, possibly an orchard in the Dryden area. A recent dispute with their landlord over a stolen pig and a restraining order is noted; that landlord was later convicted of attempted murder in 1994. No remains have been found.

Did anyone in the Dryden or Wenatchee Valley area at the time see either convertible or notice unusual activity near orchards around late September 1985?
