Guy Lavon Cuffee, 42, was shot and killed on the morning of August 11, 2015, in a Virginia Beach apartment complex parking lot in the Green Run area. He was waiting to take his daughter to work when an assailant shot him in the head; first responders found him next to his car and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators tied the killing to Angelo Delano Perry after ballistic tests matched a stolen semi-automatic pistol used in Cuffee’s murder to other violent incidents that summer. Perry was on parole from Georgia for a prior Virginia Beach shooting and had left the state without notifying his parole officer. A police tip led officers to Perry and his girlfriend, India Kager, on September 5, 2015, outside a 7-Eleven in the Princess Anne area. Perry opened fire from his vehicle; officers returned fire and both Perry and Kager were killed. A 4-month-old infant in the backseat was unharmed.
Cuffee’s daughter, Lera Jackson, publicly defended the officers’ actions and said Perry’s death represented a form of justice for her father. Does anyone have information about Guy Cuffee’s life in the Green Run area or the events of that morning?
