Jeremy Brown was 29 and serving as an FBI Police Officer when he was shot and killed in the early morning hours of a late April day in Stafford, Virginia. According to reports, Brown was leaving his home for work and was confronted in his driveway; an exchange of gunfire followed and Brown was fatally wounded. The shooting prompted a major homicide investigation in the suburban neighborhood.
Authorities identified 26-year-old Antoine Gray Johnson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, as a suspect. Investigators reported the two had been acquainted and that a past romantic relationship had ended acrimoniously; it is believed Johnson waited for Brown to emerge from his residence. Johnson was located and taken into custody within hours, then charged with first-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony and denied bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled. The final disposition of those charges has not been publicly reported.
