A domestic dispute in Chesterfield County, Virginia, ended in multiple shootings on the evening of February 5, 2023. Police say 34-year-old Terrell L. Brown opened fire at the Cloverleaf Lake Apartments as his 43-year-old estranged wife, Barbie Brown, was entering an apartment; she died at the scene. A man with her suffered serious gunshot injuries, and a neighbor was struck by a stray bullet as the suspect fled.

Investigators identified Terrell Brown as the lone suspect and say he posted a social media video admitting the killing and citing infidelity as his motive while displaying a firearm. Warrants for second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony were issued. Virginia State Police located Brown about three hours later after spotting his vehicle on Interstate 95; a single gunshot was heard inside his stopped car and Brown was found dead.
