Lorenzo Harris was 24 when he was shot and killed in Henrico, Virginia, shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014. The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Azalea Garden Apartments in the 3700 block of Delmont Street in eastern Henrico County. Officers responding to a call found Harris with a gunshot wound; he was taken to a local hospital and died of his injuries.

Henrico Police arrested 17-year-old Shaquille Maxwell the next day, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, with help from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Maxwell was charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and was tried as an adult. He was arraigned on August 13, 2014. Court records show Maxwell was later convicted of second-degree murder and a related firearm offense and received a 21-year active prison sentence.
