Ronelle Davon Johnson was 20 when he was killed by gunfire at his residence in King George County on the evening of April 29, 2014. A 2012 graduate of King George High School, he had played both junior varsity and varsity football, started youth football at age five, briefly attended Germanna Community College, and worked as a cashier at Walmart while planning to enter an apprenticeship program. Family and friends remembered him as fun-loving, always smiling and quick to make people laugh.
Local law enforcement treated the death as part of a series of what were described as gang style shootings in King George. The investigation progressed to the point that sheriff’s officers arrested at least one additional suspect, with reports noting a third arrest connected to the shootings. Anyone with information about Ronelle’s death or the shootings in King George is asked to come forward.
