Jeffrey Michael Luedecke, 51, was shot to death inside his Midway Road home in Henrico, Virginia, on a November evening in 2013. Police found him with a fatal gunshot wound after responding to a call for service. Investigators focused on his son, Michael Andrew Luedecke, after a verbal argument reportedly escalated into violence.

At trial, family testimony described long-standing fear and abuse in the household. Witnesses, including Michael’s younger brother who is a U.S. Marine, said Jeffrey hoarded weapons and had attacked both sons that night. According to testimony, Jeffrey tried to seize an assault rifle and was attempting to choke and beat Michael when Michael grabbed a pistol and shot him.

After a 17-month legal process and a three-day trial, a Henrico Circuit Judge found Michael A. Luedecke not guilty of voluntary manslaughter, concluding he acted in self-defense. Does anyone have additional information about the family or the events that led up to that night?
