Michelle Williams was 29 when she was killed in Hampton, Virginia, in the early hours of October 18, 2013. Police responding to a 911 call just after midnight found her body in the front yard of a Greenbriar Avenue residence; she had multiple gunshot wounds to her upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later determined she had been shot six times — four bullets to the chest and arms and two to the back of the head.

The Hampton Police Department’s investigation focused on Kenard M. Collins, who was originally considered an eyewitness. Prosecutors portrayed the killing as a betrayal between two people with a long-standing friendship, saying a verbal argument escalated when Collins displayed a firearm and shot Williams after she returned to the residence. Collins was indicted on September 3, 2014, on charges including murder and firearm offenses. He was later found guilty and sentenced on April 8, 2015.

Michelle was remembered as a loving mother to her daughter. If anyone has information about Michelle’s last evening on Greenbriar Avenue or knew her activities that night, please share what you know.
