On Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2013, 19-year-old Paul Gower of Richmond was shot and killed in an apartment complex on the 5700 block of Pony Farm Drive in Henrico, Virginia. The shooting occurred shortly before 5 p.m. and followed a personal conflict that escalated when Gower unexpectedly showed up at an apartment shared by 22-year-old Andrew Arthur Pratt and Pratt’s then‑girlfriend. Earlier that day Gower and the woman had reportedly been involved in a theft at a Target store.

As Gower moved down a hallway trying to leave, Pratt fired two shots from a .40‑caliber handgun; one struck Gower in the buttocks and proved fatal. Pratt called 911 after the shooting, was arrested, and charged with second‑degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. In court Pratt said he panicked and that the shooting was not premeditated.

Does anyone have information about Gower’s movements earlier that day or about witnesses at the apartment complex?
